What Do You Think About?

By Gabriel Smith gabrielsmithpro@gmail.com

Thinking. It seems like at times it is a blessing and at other times it is a burden. Our minds are filled with wild thoughts. For some of us thoughts of doubts of our worth, our will to live, or even doubts in God can cloud our minds. And then on top of that we find ourselves dealing with anxiety, hate, decisions and other crazy things. For some the fight may be with things like suicide. Thoughts of darkness overwhelm our minds. And it is easy to get depressed. Do you often just stop to think about Jesus?

Really though, do you ever just stop and think about Jesus. Just think about how amazing what He did was and how much He loves us? I mean really think about it, lived in perfection. He was the commander of angel armies, He lived in the most perfect place there is. Yet he would give that all up willingly to come to earth in the form of a man. He chose to leave the place without pain and come to earth. A place where He would have to suffer physical pain beyond understanding. He would be whipped. His hands would be nailed to a cross and He would die. But that was not all, God the Father would actually turn His back on Jesus. You see Jesus became sin for us.

You

Jesus died for you.

Not the perfect you.

Jesus died for the sinner you.
Jesus died for who you are right now. You can never earn His love.
He loves you as much now as He will tomorrow.

I want you to think about the last time you sinned. Think about what you did. And then know this -Jesus took that sin upon Himself and took it to the grave for you. And then He rose from the dead and He is waiting for you in heaven.

“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.
(John 14:1-3)

Jesus is real. And right now, He is in heaven and He is preparing it for us. Because one day He is coming back to get us.

So instead of thinking about the darkness of the world take this advice:

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
(Philippians 4:8)

Think about the good stuff, think about the happy things, think about Jesus and what He did for you.
