The Civil War one of the most violent bloody and hardest
wars ever fought. Thousands of men died on battlefields all across America [mainly
in the east]. One of the classical Civil War style charges was a charge in large
group formed into a square of men. The men walked shoulder to shoulder and in
rows. When one of the men in the front row was hit someone behind him could
replace his spot in the line.
In the same way in our churches we should be ready to fill gaps
when one of the people fall out of formation or are wounded. When a pastor
loses a family member, an elder moves away, a bible study leader gets sick, we
need to be ready as a church to aid the “wounded” person and be ready to fill
their place in the church for a period of time. Just like a solider filling another’s
place in line as Christians we should be ready to help a wounded solider of Christ
when he is losing formation. The Bible says

Bear one another’s burdens and look out for each other. As a
church we are like a military unit; if part of the unit falls out and loses sight
of the plan then the whole of the unit is weakened and can not defend itself as
well as will struggle more in taking new ground. We have to look out for each
and be ready to fight for one another. Of course, we should not fill a hole in
the lines God has not called us to fill, so pray and seek the Lord on things such as these. So, here is my question for you, are you helping others bear their burdens
or are you running away and hiding?
