In 2007, PBR made its debut in New York City, New York, bringing the “most dangerous sport on dirt” to Madison Square Gardens.

It is the first event of the PBR Unleash the Beast Series
which goes until the beginning of November. At that time the top 35 bull riders
in the world compete for the year long world title as well as the event
championship title.

The Madison Square Gardens event is considered a “PBR Major”
The prize money is a staggering $100,000 to the event winner and 625 points
towards the world finals points, both larger than a regular PBR UTB (Unleash
the Beast) event.

According to PBR.com , over $1.2 million has been awarded at
this event in New York City in the last decade.
