What do I Eat for Breakfast to Lose Weight?

What I eat for breakfast to lose weight.

There is so much great information out there on weight loss.  Just one trip to Dr. Oz’s website will give you more ideas than you can even do!

So, I am not here to tell you how to lose weight.  I am just going to tell my story of what I ate for my body type, age, and goals.

With six kids, homeschooling, and traveling full time, I need energy.  Starting my day with a bowl of cereal just won’t work.  Some people can go on a light breakfast, but if I don’t start my day off with a big serving of protein and some carbs I fizzle around 9 am and then again at 2 pm.

So, I usually eat the following for breakfast:

1 whole egg and 1-2 egg whites fried in a light coating of olive oil spray.

I put it over a potato that is I try to bake the day before in the microwave so it is ready to cut and cook quickly on the stove.  I make a small potato and have found the yellow potatoes are delicious and usually not very dirty so that saves time on scrubbing it for a while to get the dirt off.  I chop it up and cook it in a little olive oil spray on the stove also.  Since it is pre-cooked it doesn’t take long to crisp up.

I cut up some red, yellow, orange, and green pepper along with mushrooms, tomatoes, onion, and any other veggie that is in the fridge that would be yummy.  I saute them in water.  I try to add the tomatoes right before the other veggies are done and then I throw in a handful of fresh spinach just for a minute at the end.

Now, some days I don’t have all of the veggies above so I just saute what ever I have.

Sometimes it is nice to just have my eggs along with 1/2 a grapefruit if I am in a hurry.

I try to eat every three hours so my next meal is usually a small piece of chicken, turkey, tuna, or salmon  along with either 1/2 a cup of pineapple, a small apple, or grapefruit.

I enjoy my big breakfast and so does my hubby.  He absolutely loves the food changes I have made in my life!
